How do I pay?

You can pay electronically anytime on the lifeontheroadllc.com website using the “Make a Payment” tab
on the homepage. You may also pay in person by check or cash to any instructor.

When must I pay?

A payment must be made at the time of signup. If you do not wish to pay in full at that time, a
downpayment of $175 is required, with the balance in full being required in order to schedule a fourth
behind the wheel lesson.

What is the process for this program?

The state requires that all drivers under 18 have 30 hours of classroom training, 6 hours behind the
wheel, and 6 hours observing another student lesson. In addition, the student must have 50 hours of
practice driving in total (parent + instructor).
The classroom portion should be completed in one of three ways. The student can attend a 30 hour
class with an instructor, the student can complete a 30 hour online program, or the student can attend a
10 hour class with an instructor and complete 20 hours of online work.
The student has 6 months to complete online work, but may purchase a 90 day extension for $40. An
additional consideration: all online work should be complete before the last driving lesson.
The behind the wheel program is intended to be completed in the following manner. We would like the
first driving lesson to be within 60 days of the student getting their temps. They carry temps for 6 to 12
months, so we would like to spread the lessons out, doing one every 1 or 2 months, with the last lesson
happening within a month of the road test date.

When and how do I get temps?

You may get temps as soon as you turn 15. To get temps through us, you must be under contract with
us. Once you are signed up you may take the temps test and get your temps; you do NOT need to
complete the classroom work first.
To take the test, you may come to our classroom at 1052 Main Street in downtown Stevens Point during
scheduled class times. We have a quiet room you can test in while we teach. If you cannot come during
class times, you can get a signed form from us to take the test at the DMV anytime they are open.
Please call Tom at 715 498 9093 to get a form or with any further questions.

What if school cancels due to weather?

All drives as scheduled are canceled. If conditions allow, instructors will often drive some during the
day, but those drives would be scheduled by phone that day. Expect a call.
If you have class that day, it is canceled and will be rescheduled to another day. The instructor will let
you know when you can make it up.
What if my drive is during school?
If you have a behind the wheel lesson during school, you must bring a note from home excusing you.
Use the note to check out of class and/or the Attendance Office, then head outside. At SPASH we pick
up by the Panther statue. At the Junior Highs we pick up right outside the office doors. At Pacelli we
pick up in the parking lot near the office.

Where do you pick up at 3:00?

At SPASH, along the curb in the big student parking lot somewhere between the bike racks and tennis
courts.
At Pacelli, out front.
At PJ Jacobs, by the curb by the BGC or by the fence by the municipal swimming pool.
At Ben Franklin, in the small parking lot by the tennis courts.
How do I sign up for a road test?
Go to the DOT website using the link on our homepage or go to www.dot.wi.gov. Along the title bar
there are dropdown menus. Choose:
